I'm Working on A Story . . .

I was so excited and amped to be writing this story for a few reasons.
Firstly, I felt like it's a historical fiction story I would love to read. It's a good mix of ancient Greek history, mythology, and some cozy, low-stake vibes. (So much of the Greek mythology retellings are so high stakes, it's kind of crazy.)
Secondly, I've given a bit more distinction to the roles of the various Gods of Death (Thanatos, Mors, Anubis, Hel, etc.).
Lastly, I've also made Death their own character, who's a genderfluid pan . . . being who identifies as female and uses she/they pronouns during the course of the novel (and later books).

I wanted to be honest in this post, though, because this is the reality.
I initially began writing this book somewhere between 2019-2020/2021. Covid happened, amongst other things, and I mostly abandoned writing At the End of June. The idea would still tickle at the back of my brain. I would occasionally return to it to rewrite a word here and a line there - but nothing massive.
In April 2023, I created a new NaNoWriMo account, created At the End of June's project there, and started writing the story again, but this time, from scratch. Same idea, same concept - just some major approach changes.
But around June 2023, I hit another writer's block, and it's been going on for about a month at the time I'm writing this. This time, though, I have no intent to abandon it in any capacity. I just . . . might need a bit of a break. I'm still slowly writing it, but I've significantly lowered my word count for my current goal and extended the end date.
