I had a fantastic time at Disneyland for my birthday on November 8-9. I didn't wear the right shoes (my feet were badly swollen for a few days...lesson learned), but it was still so fun.
I wanted to share some tips and tricks for your next Disney Theme Park Trip. (Will be updated in future posts, so no worry there.)

Mouse Tip 1: Wear the right shoes. And bring a backup pair of sneakers just in case.
As I mentioned, I didn't do this. And while I had a fantastic time, I wish I did this. I wear boots all the time. And my usual pair of boots is usually pretty comfortable for walking in for quite some time. But I hadn't done the intense 10,000+ step Disney Theme Park walking in a few years. And definitely not in my boots, so they weren't the right option.
Here's the clincher: the morning of Nov. 8, I remember thinking, "I should grab my tennis shoes just in case." Did I? No. I ended up buying two pairs of Disney fuzzy crocs to be more comfortable walking in the parks. So wear the right shoes. And bring a backup pair,
Mouse Tip 2: If you're staying at a Disneyland hotel, utilize the option to send souvenirs to your hotel.
There is a bit of a process to this, but if you're staying at an attached hotel, make sure to mention this to the cast member(s) at the cash register when you're purchasing souvenirs. This way, you don't have to carry so much merchandise while walking around the parks.
However, there are a couple things to keep in mind:
A. Merchandise being taken to the hotels is usually picked up late, and you'd be able to pick it up the next morning.
B. If you're at the park late, it's possible that cast members have already picked up merchandise to take to the hotels.
C. If you've already spent your last night at the hotel, you won't be able to send merchandise to the hotel, even if it's early in the day.
Mouse Tip 3: Bring reusable water bottles.
You can always buy more water at the parks, but buying a reusable bottle will limit how much you're carrying around. Additionally, since it's reusable, it's easy to refill with water you get at the parks, which will also allow you to recycle the plastic bottles you buy.
I would only recommend buying a reusable bottle to use at the parks if you are able to wash it somehow. (This is considering Covid, the cold, the flu, and just how many people may have touched the bottle you decide to buy.)
Mouse Tip 4: Use the lockers available at the parks.
This may not seem very important, but believe me: it really helps in the course of a long Disney day. How? Let's say you have multiple bags - whether it's merchandise, changes of clothes, extra pairs of shoes, etc. You don't necessarily want to be carrying all of that around for the entirety of your day(s) at Disney.
This is why buying a locker for a day really helps. You'll have the necessary items for the day park-accessible (i.e. you don't have to go all the way back to your car or hotel to get them) without having to carry it around the park itself. Additionally, you won't have to figure out how to fit it at your feet on rides. And once you need it, just pop over to your locker to get it.
